help write the next
chapter of the library

Help us help you! The Library Foundation of Southlake seeks the generous support of individuals, families, corporations, and foundations to raise the additional funds necessary to enhance the library experience for all community members. Please join LFOS as we provide enhancements in the following areas:

Be a champion enriching the Southlake community. Help add to our accomplishments to date:

·       “Book Blizzard Bingo” winter reading program; bingo card with winter-themed categories, each book read earned one entry slip and each bingo earned three; 224 children registered with just under 4,500 prize slips earned (winter 2024-25)

·       Sponsored a two-week writing camp for students aged 8-12 with a professional writing teacher and published author; the camp introduced budding authors to different creative writing styles and participants received feedback on their writing plus their work was compiled into a junior literary magazine which is available to view at the Southlake Library (summer 2024)

·       In partnership with the Southlake Library, LFOS sponsored New York Times best-selling author James Ponti to town; he held two hour-long writing workshops with students, each receiving one of his “City Spies” books, and gave an hour-long presentation to a general audience (summer 2024)

·       To help young readers get excited for Mr. Ponti’s visit, LFOS created a spy-themed puzzle-solving game to recruit members to the “Southlake City Spies” team (summer 2024)

·       Supplemented Southlake Library’s summer reading program with “Golden Ticket” prizes; these larger prizes (Apple AirPods; Beats Solo 3 headphones, $100 Evo gift cards, etc.) required an additional challenge of reading 10 hours over the library’s hours requirement (summer 2023)

·       Offered the first ever winter reading program, “Funopoly”, which helped motivate Kindergarten through 8th grade readers with games and prizes during the winter school break (2023-2024)

·       Purchased two AWE Children’s Learning Stations for the library. Valued at about $11,000, these early literacy machines deliver award-winning content through a safe environment to help prepare students for school readiness (spring 2023)

Yard signs and other awards are available for donations of $500 and above. Texas EIN #87-4737254.

Ways To Give

Donation opportunities may include donating books or reference materials, an inscribed brick paver, a bench for the outdoor garden or walking path, artwork or sculpture, or a tree. As plans for the new library are finalized, the memorial donation items and their associated costs will be confirmed.
