Generous local library lover will match first $2500 in donations

The Library Foundation of Southlake is proud to announce its participation in Library Giving Day, a one-day online fundraising event that celebrates libraries and the vital role they play in our communities. This special event will take place on April 1, 2025, and aims to bring together library supporters from Southlake and beyond to champion the value of public libraries.

“The Library Giving Day initiative is a perfect opportunity to remind our supportive Southlake community about the important role that the Southlake Public Library and the wonderful staff play in the lives of our residents, especially the children,” said Lori Burr, President of the Library Foundation of Southlake.

“Every donation will help us provide enhanced services, such as writing workshops for budding young authors, visits from popular writers, and donations of equipment to keep the library thriving as a cornerstone of Southlake,” she added. “It’s a perfect time to give because all online fees are being covered by the Communities Foundation of Texas and an LFOS supporter is matching the first $2,500 which doubles your donation.”

Library Giving Day is a national movement designed to inspire people to give back to the libraries they love. Donations made during this campaign will directly support the Southlake Public Library’s programs, services, and resources, ensuring that the library continues to serve as a hub of knowledge, connection, and discovery for generations to come. Local sponsors include the Communities Foundation of Texas, H-E-B grocery stores, and Channel 5/Telemundo 39.

The Library Foundation of Southlake invites everyone to join this special day of giving and help make a lasting impact. Tax-deductible donations can be made at https://libraryfs.org/donate/. Together, we can support the library’s mission to enrich lives and build a stronger community.

LFOS is grateful to the many individual donors and local sponsors who continue to support ongoing activities of the Southlake Public Library.
